HE'LL DO IT AGAIN

TEXT:

Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. (KJV)

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning. (ASV)

Num 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (KJV)

INTRODUCTION:

Some people think that God is like a genie in a bottle. You get 2 or 3 good wishes out of him and then it's all over. I'm here to tell you, He's no genie in a bottle. He doesn't run out of compassion and He's not short on power! When you need His help, He'll do it again.

I. IN THE BIBLE HE PROVED HE'LL DO IT AGAIN

A. AN OILWELL IN A JAR

1. GOD DID IT ONCE WITH THE WIDOW OF ZARAPHETH - (1 King 17:13-16) Elijah
    said to her, "Don't be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small cake
    of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself
    and your son. For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: `The jar of flour will not be
    used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD gives rain on the land.'" She
    went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the
    woman and her family. For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry,
    in keeping with the word of the LORD spoken by Elijah. (NIV)

2. GOD DID IT AGAIN WITH THE WIDOW OF BETHEL - (2 King 4:1-7) Now there cried
    a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my
    husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is
    come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do
    for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing
    in the house, save a pot of oil. Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neigh-
    bours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the
    door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set
    aside that which is full. So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons,
    who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. And it came to pass, when the vessels
    were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not
    a vessel more. And the oil stayed. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go,
    sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest. (KJV)

B. PARTING THE WATER

1. GOD DID IT ONCE FOR MOSES AT THE RED SEA - (Ex 14:21) And Moses stretched
out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all
that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. (KJV)

2. GOD DID IT AGAIN FOR JOSHUA AT THE JORDAN - (Josh 3:15-16) And as they that
    bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped
    in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,) That the
    waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city
    Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the
    salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.

3. GOD DID IT AGAIN FOR ELIJAH AT THE JORDAN - (2 King 2:8) And Elijah took his
mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither,
so that they two went over on dry ground. (KJV)

4. GOD DID IT AGAIN FOR ELISHA AT THE JORDAN - (2 King 2:14) And he took the
    mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God
    of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha
    went over. (KJV)

C. RAPTURE

1. GOD DID IT ONCE FOR ENOCH - (Gen 5:24) And Enoch walked with God: and he was
not; for God took him. (KJV)

2. GOD DID IT AGAIN FOR ELIJAH - (2 King 2:11) And it came to pass, as they still went
on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted
them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. (KJV)

3. GOD DID IT AGAIN IN JESUS - (Acts 1:9-11) After he said this, he was taken up before
    their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky
    as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. "Men of Galilee,"
    they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken
    from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." (NIV)

4. GOD WILL DO IT AGAIN FOR THE CHURCH - (1 Thes 4:16-17) For the Lord himself
    shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of
    God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught
    up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the
    Lord. (KJV)

D. TONGUES

1. GOD DID IT ONCE FOR 120 IN AN UPPER ROOM - (Acts 2:4) And they were all filled
with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
(KJV)

2. GOD DID IT AGAIN FOR CORNELIUS' HOUSEHOLD - (Acts 10:44-46) While Peter
    yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the
    circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the
    Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues,
    and magnify God. Then answered Peter, (KJV)

3. GOD DID IT AGAIN FOR THE DISCIPLES OF JOHN - (Acts 19:6) And when Paul had
laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and
prophesied. (KJV)

II. IN MY LIFE GOD PROVED HE'LL DO IT AGAIN

A. HE ALWAYS COMES THROUGH

1. He will not fail you (Lam.3:22) "His compassions they fail not
2. He has not forgotten you (Isa.49:15)Never forget you...
3. You may not know how, you may not know when, but He'll do it again

B. GOD HAS NEVER FAILED ME

1. SICKNESS - God healed my daughter's eyes when she was a baby
2. GUIDANCE - God gave me a vision of Jesus when I thought of leaving the ministry
3. FINANCES - God gave us a money tree in Ft.Worth from some people who didn't even
    know who we were - it was the exact amount we needed to pay the rent and the gas bill.
4. HOUSING - God told me He had a home for us when we got married. We were number
    152 on a list for about 30 houses. We got the best one of all.
5. CHURCH BUILDING - We started a church in Belen, NM and needed a building. We walked
    around one and claimed it. Later, a presbyterian man from Las Cruces called and said he wanted
    to give that piece of property to us. We built a church in Socorro, NM. We walked around a
    piece of property and claimed it. We built the Family Christian Center there.

III. HE'LL DO IT AGAIN FOR YOU!

A. HE'LL DO IT AGAIN FOR YOU PERSONALLY

1. Do you need financial help - Somewhere God has an oilwell in a jar for you
2. Do you need to get somewhere - God can part the waters for you
3. Are you on your way to the lion's den - God can shut the lion's mouth for you

B. HE'LL DO IT AGAIN FOR YOU SPIRITUALLY

1. Are you lost and without God? Rev 22:17 ...whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
2. Are you seeking the strengthening power of the Holy Spirit in your life? Luke 11:13 ...how much
more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
3. Are your spiritual batteries about dead - God can REVIVE YOU AGAIN
